We are now looking to recruit an innovative and creative Engineer who possesses excellent industry experience and knowledge. Our Mechanical Engineering Division delivers both full and part-time courses across a range of levels and also delivers professional updates to meet employer needs.
Wigan and Leigh College are looking to recruit to its successful Engineering department, based at its Centre of Engineering Excellence, Pagefield Campus, an experienced lecturer who has the ability to deliver a range of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering modules relevant to the Food and Drink Manufacturing sector. The successful candidate will have relevant work experience and be able to teach/support learners to develop the following knowledge, skills and behaviours:
Knowledge:
- Quality Management
- Mechanical/Electrical Maintenance
- The function of fluid power systems
- The assembly and replacement of components within systems
- Principles of using hand tools and fitting techniques in the food and drink industry
- Understand the principles of electrical machines, testing electrical equipment and circuits.
- Understand the operation of process controllers within an engineered system
- Legislation and regulations surrounding food and drink manufacturing (Desirable)
Skills:
- Perform first line routine mechanical/electrical maintenance, including removing replacement components, cleaning, lubrication, inspection and fault finding
- Produce replacement component, using hand fitting and machine processes
- Maintain fluid power systems
