Join a college where people truly make the difference.
At Wigan & Leigh College, we’re passionate about education, opportunity, and growth—for our students, our community, and our people. As one of the region’s leading providers of further and higher education, we empower thousands of learners each year to achieve their ambitions.
Behind every great student experience is a team of talented, dedicated staff—and that’s where you come in.
We’re looking for a strategic and driven Talent Acquisition Partner to lead our recruitment efforts and help shape the future of our workforce. In this pivotal role, you’ll partner with leaders across the College to attract, engage, and hire exceptional people who share our values and commitment to excellence.
This is your opportunity to take ownership of recruitment strategy, influence decision-making, and elevate the College’s employer brand across the North West.
What you’ll do
- Lead and manage end-to-end recruitment campaigns, ensuring a seamless and inclusive experience for candidates and hiring managers.
- Partner with managers to develop effective attraction strategies and write compelling, values-led job adverts.
- Use our applicant tracking system and other platforms to manage campaigns, analyse performance, and drive continuous improvement.
- Provide expert advice on recruitment best practice, market insights, and safer recruitment compliance.
- Produce and present recruitment data and insights to inform strategic workforce planning.
- Represent the College at careers fairs, networking events, and outreach opportunities to strengthen our employer brand.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with external recruitment partners, job boards, and agencies.
- Contribute to broader HR initiatives, including onboarding, EDI, and talent development projects.
What you’ll bring
- Proven experience in full-cycle recruitment, ideally in a complex or multi-site organisation.
- Confidence using recruitment technology and a proactive approach to exploring new tools and trends.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and influence decisions.
- A passion for inclusive hiring and creating a positive candidate experience.
- The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams.
Why this role matters
As our Talent Acquisition Partner, you’ll play a key role in shaping how we attract and retain the people who make learning happen.
- You’ll help build a diverse, values-driven workforce that reflects and serves our community.
- You’ll create a recruitment experience that inspires people to join—and stay.
- You’ll influence how Wigan & Leigh College is seen as an employer of choice across the region.
