We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Electrical Installation Technician to join our dynamic Construction & Building Services team. As a Construction Technical Excellence College committed to delivering high-quality, industry-focused technical education, we pride ourselves on providing learners with practical skills, real-world experience, and excellent progression opportunities.
In this hands-on role, you will work closely with lecturers and assessors to maintain outstanding workshop environments, prepare practical resources, support learners during practical sessions, and ensure all equipment and facilities meet current safety and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, maintain, and organise tools, equipment, and materials for practical electrical installation sessions.
- Support lecturers and assessors during demonstrations and workshop activities.
- Ensure all workshops, bays, and teaching spaces remain safe, tidy, and compliant with relevant legislation.
- Carry out routine inspections, testing, and minor repairs of equipment.
- Assist in setting up assessment areas and supporting learners in developing practical confidence and skills.
- Monitor stock levels and support the ordering of materials.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the department’s facilities, resources, and learner experience.
About You
We’re looking for someone who is:
- A level 2 qualified electrician
- Knowledgeable in current wiring regulations (18th Edition desirable).
- Organised, proactive, and capable of working independently.
- Confident supporting learners in a workshop environment.
- Committed to maintaining high health and safety standards.
- A strong communicator with a positive, student-focused approach.
